Is there anywhere I can look up different charges for lawyers, such as an immigration lawyer?

Let’s say you for example want a divorce, but still want to continue with the immigration paper work, but ALONE (without the spouse’s name).

Does usually lawyers offer payment plans?

Thanks!

Cost me 3500 retainer. After than was used up it was 150.00 er hour.

    Best thing to do.
Call the Home Office at 08450105200 and ask them.
The have the latest facts , it’ll be anonimous and its free.
For the divorce lawyer, they can advise you too.
Otherwise, look in your local phone.

Some will take payments, but, they will demand a large deposit (retainer) and they will not move on your case until you are paid in full.

The amount the attorney will charge depends on what you want done. Do you want an attorney to handle BOTH the divorce AND filing the I-360 with Immigration? I’d advise against that. Immigration and divorce are two totally different areas of the law.

I don’t know of any attorney who posts a fee schedule. Normally, you’ll have to do a consultation (plan on $200 or more for a full hour) so that the attorney understands exactly what needs to be done and any complications involved. At that point the attorney will be able to tell you how much it should cost.

During the process nothing will be free.

In the US, most immigration lawyers offer package rates for specific immigration issues. Some do (and some don’t) include the fees associated with the process.

Texas and California both have a wealth of immigration lawyers, and since the issue is a federal one, their home state is kind of irrelevant.

I located a great one through the internet (sorry, to give his name would constitute spamming) and couldn’t be more pleased. His fee was a flat USD 2500, exclusive of the application fees, but the help I needed was pretty "standard". I simply provided him with the substantiating paperwork, signed the appropriate forms, paid the respective government fees and he took over from there.

    Good luck.
