He has been here for 9 years. He is a great guy and doesnt deserve to get sent back to a place he isnt famillar with. There has to be some loophole. it cant just be final.please. any good lawyers in the austin texas area? or maybe some possible cases where someone did something worse and was pardoned?
lets just send every ut student that has a dwi charge out of this country.
First of all: to all you narrow minded people…..He is not some illegal mexican that crossed the border. He came from columbia to go to school and better his life. All of you that are writing horrible comments…..I bet you have friends that have had a dwi. And you can get one of those by having two beers and being pulled over by not using your blinker. yall make it sound like he has no respect for this country. You are all probably just rednecks with shotguns sitting next to you.
yes, get a lawyer to apply for a waiver. it’s very expensive, but might help. but like all immigration matters, it is not a sure thing. i believe there’s a law out that immigrants can adjust their status if they’ve been here for 10 years and have a dependent who’s an american citizen (child or spouse). good luck.

There is a way out, it’s called the United States border.
I have zero respect for drunk drivers no matter the nationality or citizenship. Many of them are incarcerated, you could probably call prison a place that most aren’t familiar with.
Just because you want there to be a loophole in the law doesn’t mean there is one.
